Where do I go to check out fresh produce, meat from the source?
Ron W asked the question:
I live in Vancouver. I know Granville market but would like to discover produce farms and animal farms that are open to the public for chefs to visit, tour and purchase from the supplier. I know the limitations on beef and lamb grown here but still need to get to a source supplier. I have some time on my hands sometimes and would like to get down to earth. I dont have the opportunity to go to Englan or Italy where this is all quite simple and common but would like to visit places to get my heart singing. True chefs who cook from the heart know excactly what i’m saying. I have not been to the Granville market yet, as embaressing as it is, but I will be going there too. I just want to focus my time where I can get the best out of it. Thanks.

read this about paris hilton?
Christy asked the question:
Paris reportedly ordered her helicopter pilot to make an emergency landing on a German farm - so she could use the toilet.
The ‘Pledge This’ actress was said to be touring the European country when she made the surprise request. Paris even got her security to stop the family from entering their own bathroom so she could relieve herself in peace.
A source told Britain’s More magazine: “She gave the farmer a bit of a shock. Her bouncers even blocked the farm door so the family couldn’t go inside their own house while she was using the loo.”
The ‘House of Wax’ star then allegedly spent another ten minutes on the startled farmer’s porch, so she could smoke a cigarette.
The unnamed farmer said: “She was cold as a fish, and cursed about the weather.”

Day Trip From Disneyland?
moviesactually asked the question:
We are going to Disneyland next week and our passes are blocked out on Saturday. What would be a fun place to go with the kids in the area that day? In previous years we have done Legoland, Universal Studios, Pirate Dinner, Knott’s Berry Farm, Jesse James’ shop in Long Beach, Hollywood (Kodak tour, Mann’s, etc.) and Medeival Times Dinner. Any new ideas?

Rate this clean joke?
Maverick asked the question:
An Englishman was touring the Irish countryside and got lost. He saw a farmer Mike, working in his field and stopped for directions.
Mike told him the directions back to his place.
The Englishman wanted to talk a bit so he asked Mike, “Is this your farm?”
“Yep”, Mike answered.
“How big is it?” asked the Englishman.
“Well, it starts down the road there where the creek is and follows the creek up and over the hill to about where you can see that big tree. Then it runs across back of the barn to a big pile of stones up yonder and then down along the fence there to the road up that way.”
The Englishman smiled and said, “Well, that’s a nice place. Let me tell you about my place at Norfolk (England). I can get into my car and start out from one end of my property just as the sun is coming up in the east. I can drive all-day and just as the sun is setting in the west I reach to other end of my ranch. What do you think of that?”
Mike thought for a second or two, and then said, “I had a car like that once.”

Free range chicken eggs ?
Pink asked the question:
I do not currently eat eggs since I cannot find a farm in my area that properly cares for their chickens (I refuse to fund animal abuse) I do not own my chickens anymore and cannot at the moment due to space. Is there some way to find a farm in my area? A searching tool of sorts? I would also like to see the chickens as well and their regular care. I live in VT so there is no shortage of farms, many of them are not selling their eggs or offering any kind of “tour” for me to see the chickens. Thanks so much in advance!

RAINFOREST: If you only had one day to spend in San Jose, Costa Rica?
tessera_us asked the question:
If you only had one day to spend in San Jose, Costa Rica and wanted to go see the Rainforest, where would you go? I found all the National Parks list for Costa Rica, but really don’t know which one to go to. I hear of all the exotic and rare wild life I want to see - the sloths, red macaws, monkeys, etc. in the Rainforest and wish to see these sorts of things even if it is farther. So, what is also the CLOSEST things to do (outside of San Jose City tours) but not just seeing a coffee plantation or butterfly farm? I know about the Arenal Volcano, but what is the best rainforest? (And what is the best rainforest/park to see all the wildlife) And what is the closest rainforest if not the best? I travelled and stayed in the Daintree Rainforest in Australia and LOVE it. I live on a beach in Florida so have no desire to go to a beach since I live on one already, hence why I want to see and take pictures with my nice Canon EOS camera of animals/fauna, etc. in the dense rainforests.
