Looking for some interesting ideas?

thegnomeofwrath asked the question:

My boyfriend and I are celebrating our 6 year anniversary in 2 weeks, and I still haven’t decied what to do. We avoid buying each other gifts, in favor of creating some sort of memory together. This can still involve spending money, just not something I could pick up without him any other day of the year.

Past things we’ve done include a trip to the farm he grew up on, me learning to dance for him, having our portrait drawn, adopting a pet, and touring my family’s property in Italy.

Last year we were closing on our home, so we made a nice dinner together and counted ourselves lucky we could still afford food.

This year I have nothing. I’m also 7 months pregnant, limiting my travel abilites, and our budget. I’m not supposed to know this (I answered when they called to confirm the appointment), but he has a 3D ultrasound package scheduled.

I know he’ll be happy with whatever I pick, but I’d still like to come up wth something great. Anyone have any good ideas for me?

Make him a fun coupon book, and put things in there that he likes. Like one FREE breakfast in bed, or a back rub or he get’s to pick a meal of his choice. Or go and rent a few of “HIS” all time favorite movie’s and make pop corn (make some cool looking movie style pop corn boxes ) buy some boxes of moive candy, and set the mood with candles. Or set up a picnic in your back yard, lay out a blanket and pack up some salads and fried chicken and spend the afternoon out there, if you don’t have a back yard set it up on the living room floor. Your come up with something fun and cool i’m sure.

If you want to postpone it a bit…. September 1st their is supposed to be a meteor shower on the pacific coast you can see at 4 AM PST

Im trying to get plane tickets there for me and my gal.. doubt i will, but if you can look it up and maybe you can see it. Go out near a lake and just lie down and enjoy.. costs virtually nothing if your in the area.. and he will be up anyway for his job.

When my pregnant girlfriend and I were celebrating an anniversary she did something that hocked me but was fun. She took me to the courthouse and we get married. Actually we got married at the train station across the street.

It was fun and since she is pregnant the whole commitment issue was already taken care of.

    So why not try that.

I love his surprise for you. Why don’t you follow his lead and do something to do with the baby? Maybe a practical parenting class (how to bath the baby, etc.). It doesn’t have to be an official class. You might have a friend who would do it for you. When she leaves then you give your baby (him) an extra special bath..
