San Diego! I much prefer to stay there!

Seriously, if you are staying in LA and spending most of your time at Disneyland, there are many hotels near Disneyland that have shuttles. There are links to them on the Disney website. Embassy Suites is nice, includes breakfast.

We need a lot more information to help you with this…

Gary is right. Like if you flew in to John Wayne Airport in O.C., or LAX? Hollywood has UNIVERSAL STUDIOS, which is high on the wow factor for adults and kids of all ages…very cool.

Ride a couple hours south towards San Diego and you have lots to see and do there. Somewhere in the middle lay Disneyland, Knotts, and closer to San Diego, Legoland and Sea World. There are a gazillion places to stay, depends on your budget? And in southern California, you Must have a car!

    The weather has been great.

You’ll be staying at Disneyland for 7 nights but you need a place to stay for 7 nights??? I don’t understand. Why not just stay at the Disneyland Hotel even though I have no idea what you’re going to do at Disneyland for that long. And a day trip to San Francisco… I hope you are flying because that is a really long drive.

Hilton Universal in Universal City (a bit north of Hollywood Blvd)

People coming to LA either stay in a hotel/motel near Disneyland or one near the Hollywood area. No matter which area you choose, you do need a rental car. Because the two places are over 50 miles apart and you will want to see both. LA is far too spread out to depend on public transport to see stuff.

And San Francisco is worth a 2-3 day trip by itself. And you do understand San Francisco is 400 miles from LA. It is at least an overnighter and that you would do it either on your way to or from LA.

San Diego is a convenient day trip if you stay in the Disneyland area.

Since LA is so spread out, there is no single place that is close to EVERYTHING. Most people who come here tend to stay in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Anaheim.
In Hollywood, I recommend the Renaissance Hotel at Hollywood and Highland, the Best Western Sunset Plaza, or the Holiday Inn Walk of Fame.
In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced.
In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn. They are within walking distance of the front gates, and give the best value for the money.
