Day Trip From Disneyland?

moviesactually asked the question:

We are going to Disneyland next week and our passes are blocked out on Saturday. What would be a fun place to go with the kids in the area that day? In previous years we have done Legoland, Universal Studios, Pirate Dinner, Knott’s Berry Farm, Jesse James’ shop in Long Beach, Hollywood (Kodak tour, Mann’s, etc.) and Medeival Times Dinner. Any new ideas?

I would check to see if there is a “Rainforest Cafe” like there is in the Florida resort. If there is, you’ve gotta see it!

Don’t know how old your kids are, but I”m guessing they’re young if you went to Legoland…

    here are a few ideas:

Marina del Rey (there is a swimming beach off Admiralty Way that has a big sandy area to play, park equipment, grills, picnic tables and kid-friendly restaurants); Venice Beach; Santa Monica Pier; Griffith Park (horseback riding is fun - trail rides, very easy); Mulligan’s (batting cages, laser tag, mini golf, video games all in one location); tide pools in Palos Verdes (this is free - you pay for public parking) and then have to hike down to the pools but they can actually walk among real tide pools and see crabs, fish, shells, anenomes, etc.; Long Beach Aquarium with lunch on the pier in Long Beach or at Bubba Gump’s Shrimp place; there is also a really fun go-kart place in Carson called GoKart world.
