Why are cows so scary?
honk2goose asked the question:
Seriously, they freak me out. My ex-boyfriend’s mom owns a farm, and one day he took me out into the cow pasture (in some strange 4WD golf cart) so that I could get a tour of the area. I thought I was going to start to cry. I was that scared. Cows are dumb, but there’s something sinister about those vacant eyes. Why was I such a pansy? They were only cows.

Wanting to buy my first horse?
belle asked the question:
My bf was raised on a horse farm, and we are considering purchasing a horse in the future. I am new to the concept, but I think they are beautiful animals and like the idea. What are some helpful hints for first time buyers/owners? I have ridden in the past, but they have been the super tame, overridden horses that you tour with for an hour or so. Needless to say, I’m due for a lesson! All info is appriciated! Thanks!
We haven’t determined a budget yet. I have been told to get one between 6 months and two years. I live in East Tennessee, and we will have land, but we haven’t determined the best “breed”. Are there better first time breeds?

Land Law HELP!.?
Chloe R asked the question:
Could someone please help me with this…..
Three weeks ago, Farmer Field, who was the proprietor of Meadow Farm, sold and transferred his property to Mr Corn. At the time of the sale the land was unregistered. Mr Corn is an organic food specialist and he intends to open a small café in the grounds of his new home.
(1)Last week Mr Corn received a letter from a neighbour, Mr Potter who had heard of his business plans. Mr Potter claims that thirty years ago when he sold the land to Farmer Field, an agreement had been entered into upon sale, that Farmer Field would use the premises for residential purposes only. He contends that the agreement is binding on Mr Corn and consequently he must refrain from opening the café on the premises.
(2)Whilst taking his first tour of the grounds, Mr Corn discovers two other people in occupation of his land. Mr Leek, who is occupying a small flat located behind the stables, claims to have a monthly tenancy granted three years ago; and Mr Root, the local mechanic, produces a letter showing that he has a 25-year lease of an outbuilding in the grounds. Both parties claim that their agreements with Farmer Field are also binding on Mr Corn and refuse to vacate their respective premises.
(3) Heather, a neighbour, has produced a document, signed by Farmer Field, dated January 2004, whereby Farmer Field, in return for a payment, granted Heather a right of way to her property over a driveway across Meadow Farm.
(4)Just when Mr Corn thought that things could not get any worse, Daisy, Farmer Field’s grandmother appeared on his doorstep. She was shocked to discover that Farmer Field had sold her beloved Meadow Farm during her absence. She informs Mr Corn that she paid one third of the purchase price when Meadow Farm was purchased nine years ago, and has lived there ever since. She has been in Wales for the past 6 months looking after her sick brother.
You must advise Mr Corn on whether or not he is bound by these third party rights. You are to provide the requested advice, explaining fully all the legal issues that arise.
Do not assume that each part of your answer carries equal marks. You should use your discretion as to how many words you devote to each issue.

Is there evidence that paul mccartney died in his albums?
Gir asked the question:
Sometime in 1969, around the time of the release of Abbey Road, a rumor started. It was a rather silly rumor claiming that Paul McCartney was, in fact, dead. He had supposedly died in a car accident sometime before Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was made in 1967. In normal circumstances this rumor would not have gained popularity but a lot of eerie evidence began to pile up. Remember The Beatles had not been on tour since 1966 and Paul spent most of his time on his farm and in the studio. No one, in the States at least, had seen Paul live in public since ‘66. The remaining three Beatles supposedly had left clues on every album since Sgt. Pepper’s to tell the fans the truth. Paul of course had been replaced by a sound alike and a look alike so The Beatles could continue as a group.

Dear Lily,
So how’s life in the U.S. without me? I really miss everyone back home, but I am enjoying myself here. Life here at the Bahamas isn’t the same as back home. It hasn’t been hard for me to adjust with all the welcoming people, marvelous sites, and of course all the delectable foods (yum). I’ve made some really good friends here; some are visitors like me but most are residents of the island. They’ve dragged me everywhere and my days have been jam packed with places, festivals, and landmarks. I haven’t had a single moments rest. Well I guess you want to hear everything in detail.
I’ve been to a number of festivals including the “Pineapple Fest” in Gregory Town, the “Crab Fest” in Andros, and, I can’t forget, Junkanoo. (There are so many others, but I can’t seem to remember them right now.) I just know you’ll love the ”Pineapple Fest,” seeing how you love pineapples and all. Lucky for you I’m going to bring some on my way home. I bet you’re eager for my arrival now (hehe…). I got to sample so many pineapple recipes, go on tours of pineapple farms, see some art, and watch some dancing. It was so much fun! Next: the main attraction of Andros-the “Crab Fest.” It was amazing! All of the crab dishes were delicious and there was this giant pen where hundreds of crabs were kept. I’ve never seen so many crabs in my life. Last,

Would you want to read this? ?
~.:*:.~(-Alexandra-)~.:*:.~ asked the question:
I’m in the process of writing a story, and I wanted to get some feedback on it! =) It wouldn’t be enough to just give you all the first page, so here’s a summary (even though it’s kinda long to call a summary, haha. Oh, and the events are much more spread out and detailed in the actual story) I know it looks long, but please read it all!
The story starts off with Anna Clark (full name Annalise; main character; story told from her point of view) on a bus back to her old town, a small community of farms, a farm supply shop, a grocery; the kind of place where everyone knows everybody. She’s staying with her grandparents, grumpy old Lydia and clueless but warmhearted Gramps. Previously living in the city a year ago, she is forced to move back after her parents were murdered by a man with a gun. (don’t back out yet, the story isn’t all depressing!) Upon arriving in the town, she takes a short tour to see if anything has changed. Amazingly, someone has built a large mansion in the tiny farm community, but Anna overlooks it, assuming that it’s just an old, rich man with nothing better to do. At the end of her “tour”, Anna drops by her dad’s friend’s farm supply shop (friend’s name = Tom Silverton). There she learns from Tom’s son Nick that the mansion is actually the home of the Othello family, and that there will be a party there the next day. (note: Nick was Anna’s boyfriend before she moved, and the two promised to get back together and attend the same college after completing high school. When Anna and Nick reunite, she tells Nick that such promises are “childish” and “unnecessary”. Their relationship problems will tie in later) Anyway, the next night Nick takes Anna to the mansion party and she slips away to explore the huge house. She finds herself in the mansion’s massive library where she discovers the Othello’s son and heir to the family business, Asher Rei Othello. As Anna befriends the reclusive Asher, she learns that his parents are actually divorced and he is living with his mother and step father. As they become even closer, Anna reveals to Asher that her parents were murdered and the name of the man who did it. The problem? The murder is Asher’s real father, Samuel Ridge (sentenced to death)(Asher’s mother and step dad changed his last name to Othello to avoid him having the last name of a murderer). Because of this, Asher keeps to himself and avoids opening up to anyone but Anna. But Houston, we have another problem… unbeknownst to anyone but himself, Ridge was framed. He’s the only person who knows the real killer, but no one is allowed to visit him in prison. Can Anna, Asher, and Nick figure out the identity of the real culprit, before Ridge’s time is up?
Anna (sixteen)convinces Asher(seventeen) and Nick(sixteen) to team up with her to look into the case, but with both boys after Anna, teamwork is the last thing they’re looking for.
So that’s the summary! I tried to make it clear and not too packed with unneeded details, but the plot is kind of complicated…
-What can I improve on?
-Is this something you would read?
-Please keep in mind that I’m typing this summary up at 2am, haha =)
-This is my first story that I’m really serious about writing, please try not to smash my hopes if it’s not the best thing you’ve ever heard of.
-If you have questions about the plot that would help you critique it better, please ask and I’ll update this question to answer it for you!
Thank you!

what do i do now?
confused asked the question:
i’m 24, in vet school in another country & am in my 3rd year. i’ve been engaged for a lil over 2yrs & have known my FH, 23, since i was 16, so about 8-9yrs. thruout that time, we dated, took breaks, broke up, got back together, but school for me always came first. when we broke up/took breaks, it wasnt b/c we had a fight, it was b/c i had to focus on school & maybe b/c i was afraid of getting hurt. anyway, we did get together & got thru him going on tour with the army for 3yrs, and my parents finally accepting him (my FH & my mom really disliked each other for a while & that was a tough time,) but when my FH came home from iraq last summer, my mom offered that he stay at my parent’s house for a few months. He could stay until he started work & either found a place to live or until he fixed up this little farm house that my parents were willing to let us use when we got married (& him to use before we got married). Right before he left for iraq & i left for vet school, he proposed & now we are engaged & in 2 diff countries. He is still living in my parent’s house & its been almost a year since he came home from iraq. he is working & finally started working on the farm house, but for some reason its at a standstill - apparently my parents, FH &I need to talk when i get home. my FH had a rough childhood - parts of which i dont know b/c he cant talk about it, so he’s never really had a typical family life & i thought that him living at my parent’s house would give him that. He seems to treat my mom like he would want to treat his mom for all the bad things she’s done to him, but my mom has done nothing but try to help him. He just has a total “i don’t care” approach to what my family thinks of him & his actions. I’m in vet school & i talk to my parents 1-2x/week, but talk to my FH almost everyday. i tried to get it down to everyother day - not b/c i dont want to talk to him, but b/c i have a lot of studying to do. i just feel like he thinks of himself & not of me. he says he thinks of me & i believe that, but not the way i want him to. i want him to think of what’s best for me - like not upseting me when i have a test the next day, or realizing that i have a lot to do, so i cant talk to him everyday, or realizing that my family is important to me & they need to be important to him too. & i’ve told him this & he says he’ll change & that he loves me, but i’m just having 2nd thoughts. i can’t even think about marrying him now. i cant imagine my life w/o him, but i’m just not as excited as i was a few months ago about getting married to him. we havent set a date yet, but how could i even break up with him - he’s living in my parent’s house & after everything my parents have done for him & everythign i’ve put them thru trying to get them to accept him… i just dont know what to do. pls help!guess the other thing i didnt mention was that he never went to college & he doesnt think its important. he loves his job which i’m glad, but it seems like he has no intention of moving up in the company or anything (until i said something). he finally took one math class this term while he’s working, but i think education is important. what if i get a job somewhere not near his job & we discuss it & we move - he’d have to find another job - i dont know if he could do that w/o having a degree. & i dont want to limit myself in places to work just b/c of his job.

Help! I need to write a hotel request letter regarding convention event?
wpweva asked the question:
I am responsible for planning a convention of pheasant farmers, to be held in a distance city. The city was selected because a famous pheasant farm in nearby. Participants will attend some lectures and banquets in the city and tour the Restless Feathers farm. My present problem is selecting a hotel for the convention. Two hundred farmers, about half of whom will bring their spouses, will attend. I will need a banquet hall big enough to accommodate 300, three lecture rooms big enough to accommodate 75 people each, and hotel rooms for all attendees. The convention is to be on April 21,22 and 23. I need some figures: costs to attendees for hotel rooms, and cost to the organization for all other expenses. Other information, such as distance from the airport and types of transportation available, would be helpful.
Please help me write a letter that can be sent to different hotels. One of the hotel is The Comrade Arms Hotel.
Thanks
This is for my homework….I just need to put all those detail into request letter format. so the date is not important
